1. About Chimchum

Chimchum is a business management platform for professional chimney sweeps, operated by Coalface Software Ltd. By creating an account you agree to these terms.

2. Your account

  • You must be a professional chimney sweep or sweep business to use Chimchum
  • You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure
  • You must provide accurate business information
  • One account per business — you may not resell or share access

3. Subscription and payment

  • Chimchum costs £39 per month after a 30-day free trial
  • Payment is taken monthly via Stripe
  • You may cancel at any time — access continues until the end of the billing period
  • No refunds are given for partial months
  • We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days notice

4. Your responsibilities

  • You are responsible for the accuracy of information entered into Chimchum
  • You are responsible for ensuring certificates issued meet your trade association requirements
  • You must comply with UK GDPR when collecting and processing your customers data through Chimchum
  • You must not use Chimchum for any unlawful purpose

5. Data processing

When you use Chimchum to manage customer bookings and jobs, Coalface Software Ltd acts as a data processor on your behalf. You remain the data controller for your customers data. We process that data only to provide the Chimchum service and in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

You must have a lawful basis for collecting your customers data and must provide them with a privacy notice. The GDPR consent collected at booking via your Chimchum booking page satisfies this requirement for customers who book online.

6. Availability and support

  • We aim for 99.5% uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted service
  • Planned maintenance will be communicated in advance where possible
  • Support is available via email at paul@chimchum.co.uk

7. Intellectual property

Chimchum and all associated software, designs and content are owned by Coalface Software Ltd. Your business data remains yours at all times.

8. Limitation of liability

Coalface Software Ltd is not liable for any loss of business, revenue or data arising from use of Chimchum. Our total liability to you in any 12-month period shall not exceed the subscription fees paid in that period.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. You may cancel at any time via the billing settings in your dashboard. On cancellation your data is retained for 90 days then anonymised, except financial records which are kept for 7 years.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
